CSC Media Group is the one of the UK’s fastest growing media companies.
Founded by the producers of the ground-breaking music programme The
Chart Show, which ran on ITV and Channel 4 for twelve years, and
acquired in 2006 by private equity group Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS.com) and
a new management team led by former BBC Board of Management member, David
Docherty, CSC now owns and operates fifteen TV channels on Sky
Digital and Virgin Media, as well as eleven web sites.
The Group’s current focus is on
kids, music, movies and entertainment channels for the under thirties.
The kids channels are aimed at clear
and differentiated market segments –
Tiny Pop and Tinypop.com for pre-schoolers, Pop
and Popfun.co.uk for six to ten year olds, and finally, Popgirl
and Popgirlworld.com for girls seven to eleven. With their
associated plus ones, the Pop Kids’ group’s audiences grew by 8% in 2007.
The group’s music heritage is well
represented with seven music channels and social network sites that cross the
full spectrum from contemporary chart, through rock, R&B and nostalgia to easy
listening. The group’s portfolio accounted for 18% of the music market in satellite homes in 2007.
With its two true movie channels and
True Movies.com, CSC is the home of true
stories. True Movies and True Movies 2
feature some of Hollywood’s
leading performers, including Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Hugh
Grant. In a few short months, the channel became the number one on Sky and
continues to be one of the most popular movie channels on the Sky EPG.
The launch of Anime Central
and Animecentral.com in 2007 extended the group’s portfolio of
services aimed at 16-34 year olds and the company will continue to develop the
range of its services for this audience onto new platforms and virtual worlds.
CSC is already the largest provider of free to air
TV channels in the UK
and is poised to expand internationally.
We believe in speed to market, total audience focus, sophisticated branding
and the development of new niches. The modern media market
demands nothing less.
